MANHATTAN — Police have released a photo of a man suspected of carrying out a vicious stabbing last month on an upscale residential block in Greenwich Village.

The suspect, who allegedly goes by the name "Francisco" and has an eagle tattoo on his hand, allegedly stabbed the victim several times with an unknown object during a fight outside of 256 West 4th Street between Perry and Charles Street around 2:30 a.m. on March 27, police said.

The 23-year-old victim, who was not identified, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said Friday that the two men worked together at a Mexican restaurant near the stabbing scene, and had gotten into a dispute at work before the incident. He said the fight may have stemmed from the attacker's belief that the victim was bossing him around. It was not immediately clear what restaurant the men worked at together.
