MANHATTAN — A 30-year-old man was struck by a subway train on the Upper East Side Friday morning, fire officials said.
The man survived, and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. He was in stable condition, police said.
The incident occurred at the southbound 6 train stop at Lexington Avenue and East 77th Street just before 2:30 a.m., the FDNY said.
The man fell from the platform onto the trackbed, NYC Transit said.
Fire officials said the man was treated for a cardiac arrest, and police said he suffered leg trauma.
The Associated Press reported that one of his leg was severed.
Service was restored at 3:05 a.m., transit officials said.
