MANHATTAN — Smells like money.
Or at least that's what Guernsey's Auction House thinks when it comes to a piece of Lady Liberty's nose.
Guernsey's will sell a copper chunk of nose made during Lady Liberty's 1980s restoration at an auction next month, according to the New York Post.
"It's the tip of the nose with the area around the nostrils. It doesn't sound like it would be, but it's fairly attractive looking," said Arlan Ettinger, president of Guernsey's Auction House, reported the paper.
The item up for auction was one of four created to replace the Statue of Liberty's weather-worn nose, according to the Post. One of the four now graces Lady Liberty's mug, another was destroyed, and the third found a home with a private collector, said Ettinger.
The auction is set for September 24 at the Park Avenue Armory.
"It's the only one that likely will ever be sold," Ettinger told the Post.
