MANHATTAN — Police are on the hunt for four miniature muggers who allegedly robbed a 68-year-old man in Central Park Monday evening, according to a statement by the NYPD.

The junior criminals — ranging in height from 4-foot-6 to 5-foot-5 — approached the man near East 96th Street and East Drive around 7:50 p.m., police said.

One of the alleged suspects showed off a gun and another a knife, as they demanded the parkgoer's cell phone and cash, the NYPD said.

The man complied and no one was injured, police said.

The suspected stick-up artists were caught on park surveillance camera, according to police.

All of the suspects were described as black teens, wearing shorts and t-shirts, and one had on a white hat.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crimestoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

HA! the parents are the ones teaching them to "rob weak white people who will make excuses for them, such as its not robbery, its a Robin-Hood-Act". Listen, you can make all the excuses you want but if you see these kids and their types in the subway, you know trouble is brewing. And MyKindaTown. How about you stick your head out of the hole and watch the news and walk around certain parts of town. Crime has a common denominator

Can they be tracked via the man's cell phone?

Last time we checked, people that tall were still wetting their pants and taking to holding their mommy’s hands when crossing the street. But of course the times have changed and these days knives and guns have taken the place of soft ball bats and ice cream cones. Anyway isn’t it charming that the school kids are coming up with some rather unpleasant games these days? So much for childhood… http://scallywagandvagabond.com/2010/06/isnt-it-time-you-got-robbed-by-pint-size-punks-too/

In Response to the Racist Calling Himself "TomKat": I sincerely hope that you are just a tourist visiting NYC and that you will be returning (SOON!!!) to whatever Flyover-State hole you crawled out of to spew your racist comments worthy of Mississippi in the early 1960s. THIS IS NEW YORK CITY, where we welcome and respect diversity. IF YOU CAN'T DEAL WITH THAT THEN JUST WRIGGLE OFF TO SOME LILY-WHITE SUBURB...oh, and enjoy the boredom! P.S.: I am NOT an African-American, so don't take that easy out!

Is a "new generation" of violence and crime infecting New York? While please force is being reduced...and seems the majorty of cops seen on duty are too fat. Our "leaders" better get on the ball before this spreads and NY becomes scary again as it was two decades ago.
