MIDTOWN WEST — Part of the subway station at Columbus Circle had to be closed off Wednesday after two teenagers got into a knife fight that landed a boy and a girl in the hospital with stab wounds.

The northwest corner of W. 57th Street and Eighth Avenue was lined with FDNY and NYPD vehicles after 3 p.m. in response to the fight, the cause of which was unknown, police said at the scene.

Both teens hurt in the stabbing only sustained minor injuries, according to police. The injured boy was put in an FDNY ambulance with cuts to his face and back, as well as bruises. The girl was cut on her hand.

NYPD officers closed off the underground area where the fight took place, located approximately halfway between the subway entrances on the northwest and southwest corners of the intersection.
