MANHATTAN — It turns out Carrie Bradshaw isn’t the only one who gets booted from Soho House.

The "Sex and the City" episode, where the ladies try to sneak into the exclusive swim club during a hot summer day only to be asked to leave, has become a reality for some longtime members.

The club may cut as many as 1,000 people from its membership list to try to create a more “relaxed atmosphere,” the New York Post reported.

"When I went there, it didn't have the right feel anymore," owner Nick Jones told the Post. "It has always been a creative, friendly place with a relaxed feel. If there are too many corporate types around then that atmosphere doesn't occur."

Membership to the Soho House starts at $1,800 for adults annually but a ticket to the rooftop is considered priceless. Famed in not only "Sex and the City" but gossip columns everywhere, the pool-decked club has long been considered a haven for New York’s rich and famous.

This isn’t the first time Jones has scolded the membership for being too stuffy. Last year he kicked up a firestorm when he requested to see fewer suits and ties at the club.
