MANHATTAN — New York based radio talk show host Howard Stern said he would consider replacing Simon Cowell as a judge on the television show "American Idol" if FOX coughed up enough money to pay him.

“There’s not a better job on the planet than judging that f----ing karaoke contest,” Stern told listeners during his Sirius satellite radio show Monday, according to MTV.com.

The New York Post reported that Stern may not want to sign onto a show that would require him to spend most of the year away from his New York home, both while touring the country as a judge for the Los Angeles portion of the show's season.

"They'd have to pay me a ton of dough, because I already make a ton of dough," Stern said on his show. "$100 million to judge a karaoke contest? Yeah, I think I would do that show for $100 million. Who wouldn't take that?"

During his show on Monday, Stern discussed the potential of his moving to "American Idol" without confirming whether or not he has talked with the show's producers about doing so.

The radio host's $500 million five-year contract with Sirius/XM is up at the end of 2010.
