MANHATTAN — A 77-year-old man was mowed down by a tractor-trailer truck at a Midtown intersection Monday night, police said.
The truck was turning onto East 42nd Street from Lexington Avenue, near Grand Central Terminal, when the driver hit the pedestrian, according to police reports.
Emergency workers took the man to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The victim has not yet been identified.
Police said they did not believe the truck driver broke any laws.
